An AI brainstorm becomes useful when each promising idea can be evaluated against an actual decision. Start with the problem, the people affected, and the constraints you cannot ignore. A large list of appealing suggestions is not yet evidence that any suggestion will work.

Define the decision criteria

Choose criteria that match the task: required effort, available materials, fit with the setting, maintainability, or ease of testing. Separate known facts from assumptions. If demand, cost, or feasibility is unknown, give it an explicit question instead of an invented score.

Test a hypothetical suggestion

Imagine a community group considering a shared equipment shelf. The assistant proposes an elaborate reservation system. Before building it, the group could record a small set of real borrowing requests and ask who would maintain the shelf. That test addresses assumptions about use and ownership without treating a polished feature list as proof of demand.

Compare ideas using the same criteria. A model's confident wording should not count as evidence that one proposal deserves funding.

Keep a decision record

For each shortlisted idea, state the assumption to test, the smallest useful trial, the observation to collect, and the condition for continuing. Record rejected ideas and their reasons briefly. The outcome can be a decision to gather more information. That is still progress when the original brainstorm has been converted into clear, answerable questions.
